I started connecting with my community—and it made all the difference!

Southfield Community Mural
Public Art | Community Engagement | Mural Design

I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the City of Southfield and Lawrence Technological University to design and paint a mural that captures the essence of Southfield, a city I’ve proudly called home throughout my college journey.

This project began with in-depth research, sketches, and a careful color selection process that aimed to reflect the city's unique blend of innovation, diversity, and community spirit. The mural highlights both Southfield’s vibrant business landscape and its many parks and recreational spaces.

A heartfelt thank you to Shelly Freeman, whose leadership and passion brought the Community Cup and this mural to life. I’m also deeply grateful to the organizations and businesses that supported the project and contributed to its success.

Being part of the Southfield community over the past four years has meant so much to me. This mural stands as a celebration of that experience and I hope it’s just the beginning of my journey in public art.

That’s Me!

This video highlights the Southfield Community Cup and my involvement in the event—an experience I was truly honored to be part of. I also share the inspiration behind my mural design, including the meaning behind the colors and visual elements I chose.

Two young women smiling and standing outdoors in a parking lot, wearing matching blue T-shirts that say 'First Year Igniter Leader' with a trident logo.
A female football coach is talking to a young female player with face paint on her cheeks at a football field during a game. The player is wearing a black shirt with white lettering, and there are other team members visible in the foreground. The background shows empty bleachers.

T-Shirt design was also something I was able to be apart of went working for Student Life at LTU. Something that I have been passionate about doing as a designer and was very thankful to get the chance to create shirts for my classmates at Lawrence Tech!

A young woman with long hair, wearing a white bandana, black T-shirt with space-themed graphics, ripped jeans, and white sneakers, is walking outdoors at an event with tents and people in the background.
